BREAKING BAD: A-PLUS FOR CHEMISTRY!

As I said in a recent post, Breaking Bad is one of the best TV series I’ve watched in my life and it is very popular in my country. I know I should have introduced it to you before my previous article about Better Call Saul, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me…

Breaking Bad is an American crime drama television series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. It premiered in 2008, but now it can be considered a concluded TV series, even though Vince Gilligan himself produced Better Call Saul as its spin off . THE PLOT

The main character, Walter White, is a Chemistry teacher in a public high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His family is composed by his wife, his son Walter JR and an incoming baby. 

This nice balance is broken by cancer, which is diagnosed to Walter. So he decides to give the last hand to his family: with his ability at chemistry, he starts cooking homemade methamphetamine with his former student Jesse, a small-time drug dealer. 

Walter takes the most difficult challenge: he begins to be the most dangerous pusher in Albuquerque. 

He always cooks top level crystal meth; in fact they call him Heisenberg. Wait! Who’s Heisenberg? Good question, isn’t it? 

REMEMBERING A ROCKET!

Werner Karl Heisenberg was a German scientist, who formulated the uncertainty principle. He was awarded the Nobel Prize 1932. You might have heard of him at school since he is a leading figure in science!

In my opinion Breaking Bad is an awesome TV series, THE SERIES par excellence, a masterpiece, literally!

I watched it a few months ago and at first I was rather sceptic. Few episodes ahead I would come to appreciate its drama narrative.

Let’s introduce the main characters!

WALTER WHITE (Bryan Cranston)

They call him Heisenberg, and he likes it! He changes his behaviour a lot over the 5 seasons!

JESSE PINKMAN (Aaron Paul)

Walter’s former student and right-hand man. Despite they often argue, getting physical sometimes, they form a great team.

SKYLER WHITE (Anna Gunn)

The majority of the viewers hates her! She is intolerable! 

WALTER WHITE, JR (RH Mitte)

He is Walter’s son and he proves to be very wise and sensible towards his father.

SAUL GOODMAN (Bob Odenkirk)

He is simply the best lawyer in the world!

HANK SHRADER (Dean Norris) 

He’s Walter’s brother-in-law. He is a D.E.A. member in Albuquerque and he fights crime wherever he is. Will he unmask Walter?

How about “cooking” crystal meth? Please, don’t do it!

I’ve heard that many followers emulated Walter and Jesse’s “deeds”: they cooked homemade methamphetamine so as to earn with its trafficking: they’re crazy!
